Ulises Menendez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education and Sport from the University of Havana, Cuba and for the past nine years has lived in Mexico City, working both as a coach and a trainer. Ulises began his extensive career in sports as a swimmer for Cuba’s national team, where he participated in dozens of National and International events including the Pan American Games, the Central American and Caribbean Championships, The Olympic Festival of Mexico, and The Nico Sapio Trophy in Italy, garnering several Bronze and Gold Medals along the way. As a coach, he was selected for the prestigious Paralympics Games in Atlanta in 1996 as well as Sydney games in 2000. In recent years he has coached several national events hosted by the Mexican Swimming Federation. He currently works for the Mexican Federation of Sports on Wheelchairs and continues working freelance as a trainer for several national teams.
