Lawrence Betz, a native New Yorker, started serious physical fitness training at age 12. Larry was a gymnast through high school where he entered the NY state championship 2 years consecutively. His fitness interests extended to martial arts training; Japanese Jiu-Jitsu (3rd degree black belt) and a first degree in 2 others styles in Aiki Jiu-Jitsu. Larry has spent over a decade teaching martial arts to adults and children. Over time Larry became increasingly interested in health and fitness. As his passion developed, he sought out some of the top strength and conditioning coaches in the world for personal instruction.
The Betz Method is an advanced eclectic method of training utilizing various strengthening disciplines from both Eastern and Western traditions. As a student of exercise science, Larry includes arm & shoulder exercises from golf and baseball players, hip and gluteal exercises from football, foot and ankle exercises from dancers, etc…since everyone’s muscle structure is different, Larry develops individually customized exercise routines for each and every client.
