Gwen graduated from CSU-East Bay with a Liberal Studies Major, on the credential track, and a Studio Art minor. Her original intention was to become an art teacher. Her path was altered as she became determined, after her three children were born, to learn how to be healthy after a lifetime of being overweight and out-of-shape. Gwen shed 70 pounds, and during this experience, found her passion for physical fitness through working with a trainer. Over the next several years, she became certified as a teacher and trainer in a variety of fitness modalities, so that she could help others to achieve their dreams too.
Gwen has extensive training in corrective and postural exercise along with several years’ experience specializing in spinal pathologies and alleviating back pain through exercise and stretching. She has additional experience in pre-hab and post-rehab for the rotator cuff, hand, pelvic floor, hip, knee, ankle and foot, including correcting gait patterns and improving balance. Additionally, she uses various modalities for functional training, and sport-specific core strengthening and conditioning.
Gwen combines her knowledge of anatomy and background in corrective exercise with Hatha yoga, Pilates, Kettlebells and various other modalities in her customized wellness plans, which are designed to restore optimal alignment and balance to the body, mind, and spirit. Her personal fitness program includes Kettlebells, Yoga, Pilates, and Nordic Walking, and she loves to share her enthusiasm and knowledge with others.
