Paul Tucker is a physician from Tasmania, Australia, specialising in biopsy pathology. He has a keen interest in preventative health and simple ways of combating lifestyle related diseases such as obesity and stress. Recognising the survival benefits of vigorous whole body exercise to various populations over millennia, it is clear kettlebells quickly re-awaken dormant unbalanced frames within modern society. Problems such as stress, poor posture and suboptimal strength and endurance are readily “treated” with the energetic, athletic and primal movement patterns inherent in some fundamental kettlebell exercises. With a busy professional and family life, plus an ever expanding garden, kettlebells provide him with a convenient means of maintaining peak physical conditioning for any task or recreational sport. After overcoming his own musculoskeletal problems, he is always keen to show how kettlebells can help anyone safely swim against the many currents of the aging tide. He is the founding president of Girevoy (Kettlebell) Sport Australia and at age 45 has thus far achieved 50 double jerks and 78 snatches with the 32kg bells in the biathlon competition.
